The Tickets You Need
To operate a digger on or beside a road, you generally need the right endorsement, in particular the Tracks endorsement covered by a WTR endorsement. Machine-specific training and a competency assessment are also common, since employers need to know you can run the machine safely and productively.
What Digger Operators Earn
Pay reflects skill and experience. Newer operators start at a solid rate, and experienced operators who can run a machine efficiently on complex work earn well above general labouring pay. Specialising in larger machines or precision work tends to pay more.
