Excavator Operator
Deployment: Bay of Plenty.
Permanent Full Time.
Guaranteed min. 30 hours per week.
Monday to Friday work, weekends as required.
Reports to Site Supervisor.
Pay conditions: $30 to $36 per hour depending on experience.
We have work available in Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Napier and Wellington. Where travel between locations is required, provisions for travel and accommodation expenses will be considered for work away from home.
Tasks Involved
Operates heavy excavator for earth work operations such as: excavate, move and load, spread and place material on construction sites of various roading and civil projects (roads, rail, dams, tunnels, drainage, etc.), consisting of:
Detailed earthworks.
Trimming and shaping.
Mass haul operations.
Embankment construction.
Drainage construction.
Road and pavement construction.
Foundation treatment works.
Finishing and landscaping works.
GPS capability highly desired but not necessary.
Plant machine operations includes completion of daily prestart checks, moving plant to required locations on sites, operation of controls, maintenance and lubrication of plant and monitoring of work site ensuring safe operations.
Labouring from time to time to assist crews.

What we need
Min 3 years’ experience operating excavator in the civil construction industry.
Advantageous is the knowledge of operating additional plant: Articulated Dump Trucks, Trucks and Trailers, Graders, Rollers, Bulldozers, Backhoe.
12 months or similar working on civil infrastructure projects.
WTR ticket (wheels, tracks, rollers) or equivalent.
Physically fit.
